Double Wedding Ring

Coming up for air, I finally finished this double wedding ring quilt that has been on my frame for nearly a week. It was pieced by Shirley Jordan. It was fun and challenging at the same time since it is all hand guided. Once the design was determined, then it was very repetitious. After about the second row, I finally came up with a good continuous line so I did not have to knot off with the stitch in the ditch lines. The first row took about 2 1/2 hours, but I was able to reduce that to under 2 hours a row after I got going. The most challenging was to keep it even, the knots minimal, and the backtracking close because the light pink thread which blended so nicely on the front was a high contrast on the back, allowing every stitch to show!  I also added a bias binding on the scallops on the front for Shirley who will hand stitch it down on the back. After it was complete, I was quite pleased with the results.

Unfortunately, I could not take a picture of the full quilt because it is very large and I don’t have the space or ability to hang it for a full view. But I have a few views here for you to get the “picture”!
