Had a great class last Saturday at Fourth Corner Quilts in Bellingham with 5 terrific students. They all came with wonderful subjects to thread paint. Except for the usual few machine issues, I believe everyone had fun and went away with new techniques to add to their arsenal of quilting design and execution. Below are some pictures of these creative women fun at work!

New Border Video

I’ve been working on this video for a month or so. This is a quilt I made for my web designer and decided to record how to add two borders to the body of this quilt. Just finished editing it today and will upload it to my website for reference for my students and clients. I’ll add more pictures of the finished quilt later. I really enjoy making videos. My art show at the Cordata Community Co-op Cafe

Wow! What an honor to have been invited to displayed some of my art quilts at the Food Co-op Cafe, Cordata location in Bellingham, WA. I hung 16 quilts on Tuesday, Jan 10. They will be there until about mid March or so. The very next day, I received a call and sold one of them! How exciting is that? I have included a couple of pictures of the hanging, although didn’t get all the walls because of the lighting….but these are the majority of those that are hanging. If you or anyone you know are interested in purchasing one, please give me a call or email me. Thanks!

Wow! December flew by with lots of quilts to get quilted before Christmas, so I spent little to no time on my computer for blogging! But I want to wish you all a happy new year and am looking forward with great expectations of having a great year. I am truly in clean up mode right now in between quilts. I plan to give my studio a serious clean up and focus on the kind of quilting I really like to do for my own personal stuff. I haven’t really worked on anything since I finished “Reflections of Mt.Shuksan”…..which by the way has been published in the NOTEWORTHY section of Machine Quilters Unlimited magazine! I was so excited to see it there. After I had submitted it, I got a few emails asking for details, but then didn’t hear again, so it was quite a surprise to see it there. It was juried into PIQF in October, for which it did not bring home a ribbon, and it is now at the Road to California show which is in Ontario, CA on Jan 19-22. I have no great expectations for a ribbon there, either, but it is still fun to have it juried in! So below is a picture of the layout inside, then cover of the magazine. Now…what to do next?

Dragonflies Wallhanging by Linda Dodd

This adorable dragonfly wallhanging was pieced/appliqued by Linda Dodd. I had a blast quilting it. I used a variegated metallic thread for the feathers.

Looking for things to draw is fun. Did this “still life” in colored pencils. This time no kit and I had to figure what colors to use. Really enjoyed this. Next time something a little more intricate.

Had a great machine quilting class last Saturday. It was a day of learning about tension, stitch in the ditch, and of course, lots of free motion quilting. After solving most of the tension problems, I believe a good time was had by all. Here are a few pictures…..
